4chon started in 2009, as a play on the site name "4chan". It's purpose was to focus on imageboard discussion
and discuss board software. It was sort of a replication of Wakaba's /soc/ board. Back then, the first boards were /id/ - Imageboard Discussion,
/imgsoft/ - Imageboard Software, and /site/ - Site Discussion. Nobody used that last one, so it was eventually removed. During that time, there were
off-topic posts on /id/ which necessitated the addition of a random board. Since then, boards have been added and removed due to varying user and staff
interest. Possibly one of the weakest boards we've had over the course of time was the science board (it was worth a shot though!).
During the life of the site, we managed to pick up the domain 4chon.org and found ourselves with newfriends and
/b/tards trying to raid the site every so often. Once in a while some of us even get some new gore for our folders. :)
For some probably wondering, "is this a fast-moving site?", it's not. Ever hear of quality over quantity? We are VIP QUALITY. It's no wonder
4chon draws some of the older people in. Maybe they're pedophiles, or just plain crazy, who knows?
